Previously, I shared a guide on How to Create Ultra-Realistic Images with Gemini AI, but that was using the Imagen 3 model. Today, I’m excited to share how to create even more realistic images with the latest model: Imagen 4.
What is Imagen 4?
Imagen 4 is the latest generation of text-to-image models developed by Google DeepMind, launched on May 20, 2025. This “flagship” version offers unparalleled realism in every detail: lighting, fabric textures, water, animal fur… and supports image output in up to 2K quality. The model also enhances “text rendering” capabilities – meaning text, logos, and more appear crisp and clear in images without the font errors seen in previous versions.
Can You Use Imagen 4 for Free?
Currently, you can access and experience Imagen 4 for free on Google AI Studio.
Based on my experience, a single account can generate approximately the following number of images per day:
Imagen 4 (Preview) model: around 20 to 30 images
Imagen 4 Ultra (Preview) model: around 10 to 15 images
The screen will look like this. If you’re not logged in, click the button to sign in with your Google account.
After successfully logging in, you’ll be directed to the chat screen by default. On the left-hand menu, select “Generate Media.”
Then, select the “Imagen” option to access the image creation screen with Imagen 4.
The image creation screen mainly consists of two parts as shown below. There’s a text box to enter your descriptive prompt (you can type in Vietnamese), and the right side allows you to select the Model, the number of images to generate, and the aspect ratio.
For example, I’ll now enter the prompt “A beautiful Vietnamese girl sitting and drinking coffee,” select the “Imagen 4 (Preview)” model, and choose a 16:9 aspect ratio. The result will look like this:
How to Write Prompts for Ultra-Realistic Images
Object + Lighting + Material
Example: “Close-up of a cappuccino cup on an old wooden table, early morning sunlight shining at an angle, steam rising, detailed ceramic glaze, ultra-realistic image”
Cinematic Style
Example: “Portrait of an old man by a fireplace, warm golden light, detailed wrinkled skin, smoke from a pipe, blurred background, cinematic style, HDR”
Clear Text (Typography)
Example: “Classic coffee shop sign on a brick wall, text ‘Brew & Bean’ sharply defined, soft golden light, 2K image, ultra-realistic”
Use Negative Prompts
Example: “Realistic image of a Persian cat lying on a red velvet chair, soft lighting, detailed fur. Negative prompt: cartoon, distorted eyes, text errors”
Conclusion
You can absolutely take advantage of Imagen 4 for free on Google AI Studio to create ultra-realistic images for blogs, designs, and content marketing. Make the most of this free access period as soon as possible. Remember to craft detailed prompts and select the right model for the best results.
Wishing you success in creating amazing images!
