If you're just discovering Sora and starting to use it for AI video creation, check out this basic guide here:
The biggest headache for content creators is inconsistency. You might generate a beautiful character in the first second, but by the 5-second mark, their face has morphed into someone else entirely. Disjointed, patchwork shots make videos look unprofessional.
However, with the latest update from OpenAI for the Sora 2 Pro plan—specifically the Storyboard feature—the game has completely changed. Today, Yuto Tech will share the details on how to create an incredibly smooth AI video up to 25 seconds long, maintaining the same setting and characters from start to finish.
Unlike traditional AI video tools that only generate short 3-5 second clips that you then have to stitch together using editing software, Sora 2 Pro Storyboard allows you to direct a continuous sequence of scenes.
Core Strengths:
Breakthrough Duration: Create seamless videos up to 25 seconds long.
Consistency: The AI automatically understands and preserves character outfits, facial features, and spatial settings across different Scenes in a single render.
Script Control: You can direct specific developments for every second of the video.
No Watermark: Downloaded videos will be watermark-free.
Costs and the Credit System - What You Need to Know
To get your hands on this technology, you need to use the ChatGPT Pro plan (note: this is a higher tier than the standard Plus plan).
Price: About $200 USD/month. This is a rather high price point, aimed at professional creators or businesses.
Credit Mechanism:
You will be granted a specific amount of credits each day (e.g., 99 credits).
Important Note: These credits will reset daily. If you don't use them all today, they will not roll over to the next day. So, make the most of them every day.
Consumption Rate: A 25-second video consumes about 12 credits. This means you can create about 8-10 highest-quality videos per day.
Setting Standard Technical Specifications to Optimize Video
Before you start creating videos, understanding technical specifications is crucial to avoid wasting credits. On the Sora interface, select the Storyboard icon and note the following items:
Model: There are 2 models: Sora 2 Pro and Sora 2. Sora 2 Pro will yield better videos that adhere more closely to the prompt.
Orientation: Depending on the platform where you want to post (YouTube or TikTok), there are 2 aspect ratios to choose from: landscape (16:9) or portrait (9:16).
Resolution: Only Sora 2 Pro has this option.
Standard Mode: Allows you to extend duration up to 25 seconds. This is the best choice for telling a long story.
High Resolution Mode: Extremely sharp image quality, but maximum duration is limited to just 15 seconds.
Duration: You can choose the video length: 10, 15, or 25 seconds.
Advice from Yuto Tech: If you're making short videos for Stories/Reels that need to look pristine, choose High Resolution. If you need to tell a story with content lasting about 25 seconds, choose Standard Resolution.
Script Building Process: Manual and Automatic
This is the most interesting step. Sora offers you 2 ways to write a script.
Method 1: Manual Editing (For Control Freaks)
You will manually input descriptions for each scene:
Scene 1 (5s): Two people are drinking coffee, chatting happily.
Scene 2 (5s): The guy surprisingly gives a gift.
Scene 3 (5s): The girl opens the gift and gets emotional.
The system will automatically link these scenes together. The characters from Scene 1 will be automatically "carried over" to Scenes 2 and 3 without you needing to re-describe their appearance.
For example, with the settings shown below, you will get the following result:
Method 2: Use AI for Automatic Script Generation (For Idea Generators)
If you're too lazy to split scenes, use Sora 2 Pro's automatic script generation feature.
Enter a general idea into the description box (Example: "Video of a panda chef cooking tofu, cute style, with voiceover").
Press Enter.
The AI will automatically analyze and break your idea down into 5-7 detailed scenes, specifying how many seconds each scene lasts and what the action is.
This method saves a lot of brainpower, and the result written by the AI often adheres very closely to the machine's visual logic.
For instance, just by writing the idea as shown below and letting the AI automatically create the storyboard, you get the following result:
Sora 2 Pro allows you to upload images to use as input "material" (the plus button in the Storyboard section). However, there is a major limitation regarding OpenAI's safety policy that you need to know:
NO real people: If you upload a portrait of yourself or a celebrity, the system will flag an error and refuse to process it immediately to avoid Deepfake issues.
Supported: Animals (dogs, cats), objects, landscapes, 3D animated characters.
Application Example: You can upload a photo of your pet cat and ask the AI to generate a video of the cat... drinking bubble tea and talking. The result will be very amusing and won't violate any policies.
Conclusion
Although the cost barrier ($200 USD/month) is quite high, what Sora 2 Pro Storyboard delivers is truly worth it for those serious about AI video production. The ability to create consistent 25-second videos with the same characters is a huge leap forward, bringing us closer to making complete movies with just command lines.
