If you’re new to Sora and just starting your journey in AI video creation, check out the basic guide here:
The biggest headache for content creators is inconsistency. You create a stunning character in the first second, but by the fifth second, their face has morphed into someone else completely. Disjointed, patched-together shots make the video lack professionalism.
However, with OpenAI's latest update for the Sora 2 Pro plan—specifically the Storyboard feature—the game has changed completely. Today, Yuto Tech will share the details on how to generate an ultra-smooth AI video up to 25 seconds long while maintaining the setting and character consistency from start to finish.
Unlike traditional AI video tools that only generate short 3-5 second clips requiring you to use editing software to stitch them together, Sora 2 Pro Storyboard lets you sit in the director's chair for a continuous sequence of scenes.
Core Strengths:
Breakthrough Duration: Create seamless videos up to 25 seconds long.
Consistency: The AI automatically understands and retains outfits, character faces, and spatial context across different Scenes within a single render.
Script Control: You can direct the specific progression for every second of the video.
No Watermark: Downloaded videos will be watermark-free.
Costs and Credits System - What You Need to Know
To get your hands on this technology, you need to use the ChatGPT Pro plan (note: this is a higher tier than the standard Plus plan).
Price: About $200 USD/month (approx. 5,000,000 VND). This is a fairly steep price point, aimed at professional creators or businesses.
Credits Mechanism:
You are granted a certain amount of credits daily (e.g., 99 credits).
Important Note: These credits reset every day. If you don't use them all today, they do not roll over to tomorrow. So, make the most of every day.
Consumption Rate: A 25-second video consumes about 12 credits. This means you can create about 8-10 highest-quality videos per day.
Setting Standard Specs to Optimize Your Video
Before jumping into video creation, understanding the technical specs is crucial so you don't waste credits. In the Sora interface, select the Storyboard icon and pay attention to the following sections:
Model: There are 2 models: Sora 2 Pro and Sora 2. Sora 2 Pro produces better videos that adhere more closely to the prompt.
Orientation: Depending on the platform you want to post to (YouTube or TikTok), you have 2 aspect ratio choices: landscape (16:9) or portrait (9:16).
Resolution: Only Sora 2 Pro has this option.
Standard Mode: Allows you to extend video duration up to 25 seconds. This is the best choice for telling a long story.
High Mode: Image quality is extremely sharp, but the maximum duration is limited to just 15 seconds.
Duration: You can choose the video length: 10, 15, or 25 seconds.
Advice from Yuto Tech: If you're making short videos for Stories/Reels that need to look pristine, choose High resolution. If you need to tell a story with content spanning about 25 seconds, choose Standard resolution.
Script Building Process: Manual and Automatic
This is the most exciting step. Sora provides you with 2 ways to write a script.
Method 1: Manual Editing (For those who like control)
You will manually input the description for each scene:
Scene 1 (5s): Two people drinking coffee, chatting happily.
Scene 2 (5s): The boy suddenly gives a gift.
Scene 3 (5s): The girl opens the gift and gets emotional.
The system will automatically link these scenes together. The characters from Scene 1 will be automatically "carried over" to Scenes 2 and 3 without you needing to describe their appearance again.
For example, with the settings shown below, you will get the following result:
Method 2: Using AI to Auto-generate Scripts (For idea generators)
If you don't feel like splitting scenes yourself, use the auto-script feature in Sora 2 Pro.
Enter a general idea into the description box (Example: "Video about a panda working as a chef cooking tofu, cute style, with Vietnamese voiceover").
Press Enter.
The AI will automatically analyze and break your idea down into 5-7 detailed scenes, specifying how many seconds each scene lasts and what the action is.
This method saves a lot of brainpower, and the results the AI writes are often very close to the machine's visual logic.
For instance, just by writing the idea below and letting AI automatically create the storyboard, you get the following result:
Sora 2 Pro allows you to upload photos as input "material" (the plus button in the Storyboard section). However, there is a major restriction regarding OpenAI's safety policy that you need to know:
NO support for real people: If you upload a portrait of yourself or a celebrity, the system will report an error and refuse to process it immediately to avoid Deepfake issues.
Good support for: Animals (dogs, cats), objects, landscapes, 3D animated characters.
Application Example: You can upload a photo of your pet cat and ask the AI to generate a video of the cat... drinking boba tea and talking. The result will be very entertaining and won't violate policies.
Conclusion
Although the cost barrier ($200 USD/month) is quite significant, what Sora 2 Pro Storyboard delivers is truly worth it for those serious about AI video production. The ability to create a 25-second video with consistent characters is a huge leap forward, bringing us closer to making complete films with just text prompts.
